Get ready for an adventure! Adventureland is gearing up for an exciting 2026 season, with a grand reopening on March 20, and here's the scoop: they're unveiling a thrilling trio of new rides and an entertaining duo of games!
But wait, there's more to this story. This year marks the third phase of a massive $10 million park redevelopment plan, which began in 2024 with a five-phase strategy. And Adventureland is ahead of schedule, aiming to complete the transformation sooner than the original 2028 target.
A New Era for Adventureland
Since October, the park has been undergoing a makeover, removing the old log flume ride, Adventure Falls, and the short-lived thrill ride, Moon Chaser, to create space for fresh attractions. This has freed up a whopping 45,000 square feet for new experiences.
Phase 1: A Successful Start
In 2024, the park kicked things off with the removal of the adult pirate ship and log flume, making way for the new Legacy Corner. This area debuted with the Moon Chaser, a galaxy-themed thrill ride, and a rebranded wellness center.
Phases 2 and 3: The Current Buzz
This year, Adventureland is introducing the Wave Twister, a family-friendly ride with a unique wave-like track. But here's where it gets controversial: despite its name, it's not a water ride! Instead, it's a roller coaster-like experience with a boomerang-shaped track, offering a thrilling yet manageable experience for younger riders.
The Ram, a modern twist on the classic pirate ship, is also set to debut this spring. This ride pays homage to the park's history, as it replaces a beloved pirate ship that was once a fan favorite. The new theme, inspired by SUNY Farmingdale's sports teams, The Rams, adds a unique twist.
Entertainment for All Ages
Legacy Corner will also feature two new midway games: Wave Blaster, a water-shooting game, and Jungle Run, a fun board game-style experience. Plus, a new food stand, Legacy Bites, will satisfy your cravings with a variety of snackable treats.
A Classic Carousel with a Twist
The park's traditional carousel is getting a stylish upgrade with a new double-decker version from Italy. This accessible ride can accommodate up to 60 people and will feature a range of animals to ride, including a tiger, lion, zebra, giraffe, and panda.
Seasonal Fun and Pricing
Adventureland operates seasonally, opening on weekends and holidays during the spring and fall when school is in session, and daily in the summer. The park boasts 27 rides, 13 midway games, and a restaurant with ample seating. Admission prices for the 2026 season have increased slightly for younger visitors, with a $2 hike for ages 2 to 24, while prices remain the same for adults.
