"As a result, we have taken the necessary steps to remove the series from all our platforms, and we remain committed to fostering an environment of respect and diversity."
In the video obtained by Radar Online, Curtis can be heard using a racial slur against Black individuals during a home renovation segment. She appears to immediately recognize her mistake and requests that the footage be deleted. This incident has led to the show's removal from Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming services, with no search results for "Rehab Addict" on HBO Max or Discovery+.
Curtis' manager has not yet responded to requests for comment. In a statement to TMZ, Curtis apologized, stating, "The word in question is not part of my vocabulary, and I want to make that clear. I apologize to everyone for this mistake."
She further added, "I'm grateful for the journey we've shared over the past 15 years, but my focus now is on my family and community. My character and heart are defined by the relationships I hold dear."
In an Instagram post, Curtis shared her side of the story, writing, "There's more to this, but my family comes first. I need to be there for my kids and my community."
"Rehab Addict" debuted in 2010 on the DIY channel and later moved to HGTV in 2014, airing 83 episodes across eight seasons. The DIY channel has since rebranded as the Magnolia Network.
