In a recent candid interview, actor John Abraham bravely shared his experiences as an outsider in Bollywood, shedding light on the challenges he faced from the very start of his career. John's admission of relentless criticism since 2003 is a stark reminder of the hurdles outsiders often face in the entertainment industry. "The amount of criticism I've endured is unparalleled during my time. I was like a horse with blinkers, focused solely on the path ahead. I've never had a publicist, and while that may have made me vulnerable, I believe my integrity speaks for itself," John shared during the SCREEN Masterclass.

Despite the competition, John carved out his own unique path. He explained his approach, saying, "The key is to train your mind to see yourself as complementary, not competitive. I've worked alongside Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, and Abhishek Bachchan, and we've all brought something different to the table. We understand that we enhance each other's process, and that comfort and camaraderie translate onto the screen."
Future Endeavors
When it comes to his upcoming projects, John expressed interest in exploring comedy scripts and even hinted at a potential return to the "No Smoking" franchise if a sequel were to materialize.
John's career has spanned a diverse range of projects, from "Paap" to "Dhoom," "Garam Masala," "Dostana," "Water," "Kabul Express," "New York," and "Shootout at Wadala." His most recent appearance was in the action-packed thriller "Tehran," where he played the role of Special Officer Rajeev Kumar seeking revenge for the 2012 Delhi bombing. The film, directed by Arun Gopalan, also starred Manushi Chhillar and was released last year.
Additionally, John unveiled the official teaser for the documentary "Oslo: A Tale Of Promise" at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
