She needs it to survive, and she needs it not to suffer."
Adding to the complexity of the situation, Savannah acknowledged media reports regarding a ransom letter from individuals who are believed to have taken her mother. "We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk," she mentioned. "However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen."
Nancy Guthrie was last seen by her family at her residence near Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday night, with concerns escalating when a family member learned from a church contact that she was missing the following afternoon. The Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has indicated that he cannot dismiss the possibility of foul play in this case.
During a news conference held on Sunday night, Sheriff Nanos revealed that Nancy was last spotted around 9:30 PM that Saturday. Search and rescue teams, assisted by volunteers and border patrol agents, along with the homicide division, have been involved in the investigation—a move that is unusual for cases of this nature. Nanos further stated on Monday morning, “We do in fact have a crime scene,” implying that there may be more to this story than a simple disappearance.
